Nimmanoradee Temple's Floating Market

Description:
The Nimmanoradee Temple's Floating Market has taken place in the Phasi Charoen canal area for more than 110 years. The market retains the same character and lifestyle as it did over a century ago. In realizing the invaluable quality of their original lifestyle, the Phasi Charoen District renovated the floating market in January 2010.

Today’s visitors can see and experience the river lifestyle as the community strives to promote eco-tourism and preserve a Thai lifestyle tradition. There are several types of shops selling a broad range of goods from household items to antique silver belts and a variety of food is available, such as Vietnamese stuffed crispy omelette, grilled sticky rice with syrup and grilled fishcakes. Moreover, there is a Thai traditional medicine clinic offering treatment, herbs and therapeutic massages to rekindle Thai wisdom from the past.

The market is open only on weekends. For more information, please contact the Bangkok Tourism Division.
