Narai Phand

Description:
Narai Phand Company Limited was founded in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and the private sector. Their aim is to support and improve Thai craft products while preserving Thai arts and knowledge. It is also a way for promoting Thai culture and crafts internationally. In 1937 it was founded under the name “Thai Industry” as a shop selling homemade crafts. Later, in the shop has been relocated to Lan Luang Road and its name was changed from “Thai Industry” to Narai Phand in order to be congruent with their new building’s name.

In 1984 the Cabinet of Ministers implemented a policy to transform Narai Phand away from a government owned corporation into a true private business. Throughout the changes Narai Phand maintained their objective to support locals who earn their livelihoods through homemade crafts.
